UAE Visa-on-Arrival for Eligible Filipinos: What You Need to Know (Effective June 25, 2026)
UAE Visa-on-Arrival for Eligible Filipinos: What You Need to Know (Effective June 25, 2026)
Good news for Filipino travelers and overseas workers! Starting June 25, 2026, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) now offers a visa-on-arrival facility to qualified Philippine passport holders. The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) confirmed that this privilege was extended in light of the strong and growing relationship between the Philippines and the UAE.
If you've been dreaming of exploring Dubai's skyline, Abu Dhabi's landmarks, or visiting family in the Emirates, this update makes your trip a lot more convenient. Here's everything you need to know before you book.
Who is Eligible?
This is the most important part — the visa-on-arrival is not automatic for all Filipinos. To qualify, you must hold a Philippine passport plus a valid visa, residence permit, or Green Card issued by any of the following countries or regions:
- United States of America (including a US Green Card)
- European Union (EU) member states
- Australia
- Japan
- Singapore
- South Korea
- Canada
- New Zealand
In other words, if you already have a valid visa or residency from any of these countries, you can now enter the UAE without applying for a visa in advance.
Visa Options & Fees
Eligible travelers can choose between two options upon arrival:
- 14-Day Visa-on-Arrival — AED 100 (approximately ₱1,550). This can be extended once for an additional 14 days for a fee of AED 250.
- 60-Day Visa-on-Arrival — AED 250 (approximately ₱3,900). Please note this option is non-extendable.
Note: Peso equivalents are approximate and may vary depending on the current exchange rate.
What to Prepare Before You Fly
To enjoy a smooth, hassle-free entry, make sure you have the following ready:
- A Philippine passport valid for at least six (6) months from your date of entry.
- Your valid supporting document — the visa, residence permit, or Green Card from one of the eligible countries above.
- Make sure your supporting visa or permit is still valid and has not expired before your travel date.
You'll be required to present both your Philippine passport and your qualifying document at the UAE port of entry, so keep them handy and accessible.
Why This Matters
The UAE is home to one of the largest Filipino communities in the world, with hundreds of thousands of Filipinos living, working, and visiting across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and beyond. This new arrangement makes travel significantly easier — whether you're going for tourism, business, or to reunite with loved ones — and reflects the continued effort of both governments to strengthen people-to-people ties.
